FAQ's
1. Are you licensed?
Any and all licenses needed are held by electrical and plumbing sub teams. My GC license covers all other related issues
2. Are you bonded?
A bond can be purchased on a job-by-job basis if scope of work exceeds my 500k liability
3. Are you insured?
Yes, up to 500k jobs
4. Can you provide references?
We can provide references
5. Will you put the details in writing?
We can do work two ways: details in writing or we act as your sub, tackling any and every issue you are trying to address before we leave
6. Are you pulling the permit?
We specialize in homes in the Historic District of Macon and central GA. There are governing boards that control the facades on most of our projects, so there will need to be permits pulled with Macon Planning and Zoning if there are any improvements or repairs needed on the front of houses. This includes everything, even landscape changes. Review board meetings are 30 days out, minimum. Also, any changes to the structure itself or additions must be permitted
7. How much do you charge for your service/How does pricing work?
We can bid a project and change orders as issues arise, or we can work weekly, with a set of goals and projects. This is the route most choose, as we always encounter hidden rot and damage throughout nearly every project - often hidden on purpose. Bids and change orders at that point can slow the project, as much time is required to stop and institute those additional work orders. Also, nearly every customer has “while you're at it” requests, which we're able to seamlessly incorporate on the fly. (We can run through as much material in any given week as we do labor, so our labor to cost ratio is right in line.) Doing a project with us means you do it once in a lifetime.
8. Do you guarantee your work/products?
We guarantee all of our work and craftsmanship. We take no shortcuts and we design using only the highest quality products.
9. Can you guarantee a timetable?
Timetables on small projects are easy to manage. Some of the larger projects with considerable rot can easily escalate a project's time. If you are restoring a historical home you can expect many surprises.
10. How long have you been working around here?
We have been in the Macon & Fort Valley area for 7 years now, but we've been in the restoration business for 20 years. We are a team of very skilled laborers with countless hours of training on the craftsmanship of yesteryear. We always put the home's best interest and intended functionality and design first. I (the owner) come from a larger town in Ohio with a historical home mix. I also was raised in a 1900s Victorian. These homes are my passion.
